Paint Drop Series

This is my Paint Drop series. I am particularly excited by this series because of how many ways it can be experimented with. For example, consider the basic elements of art: line, shape, color, form, value, space, and texture. All of these elements can be manipulated with this technique. Several of my posted pieces experiment with these things, but I can only imagine the other marvelous ideas other minds can create. Expect many additions to this series!

Another aspect of this series utilizes the Sorites Paradox. This paradox is basically thus: One rock is not a pile. 2 rocks is not a pile. Is 3 rocks a pile? When is it a pile? To provide a more explicit connection with my art work, one drop simply doesn't make a picture. Nor does 2 drops, ergo if you put yourself in my shoes as the artist, when am I done? When have a created a sunset, as in my Paint Drop Sunset? The density of drops is one of those aspects that can be manipulated with this technique.

I try to allude to some particle physics as well, as we are just an immense number of atoms. However, because of our macroscopic perspective, we see these tiny "dots" for the collective object they create. We must not forget to see the forest for the trees.
